Day 324 - Indoor Picnic

Our mothers' group, which is now a playgroup, had a Christmas picnic planned for today but with the sudden rain overnight, it had to be relocated indoors. Although Henry doesn't get to see this bunch of little friends so often now, he seemed to have a ball, running around with all the others today. He attempted a tiny slippery dip, threw plastic balls around and had a go on this little bike as well, which he really seemed to enjoy. He even managed to get off the bike at the end all by himself. It was great to see everyone again, even though we didn't quite have our planned picnic!

Day 278 - Do You Think They Make Lavender Honey?

After an afternoon with some of the mums and babies who used to be my mothers' group, but have now formed a playgroup, where Henry seemingly wore himself out playing with his little friends, I sat by the car as he slept it off in the driveway. I have been watching the bees on the lavender for a little while and since I had my camera in my handbag, I took a few pics while I waited for Henry to wake up. They didn't seem to mind me getting so close, luckily and I love the detail that I managed to capture with the macro setting on. There's a lot of lavender in our front yard, so I am pretty sure that they will happily stay for some time.

Day 190 - First for Many

I cannot believe that Henry will be one at the end of the month, but it feels a little more real after today. My mothers' group got together today to have a big birthday party for all the babies who are about to turn one (in fact some already have). Every time I see everyone it is amazing to see how the babies have changed and it was lots of fun to see them play together today. I made the birthday cakes above and it was lovely for Henry to have his own little cupcake with a candle. I blew it out quickly as he looked a little too interested! Happy Birthday to all the bubs :-)

Day 93 - End of Another Packed Weekend

Well it was a very busy Sunday today which started with a lunch BBQ at a workmate's place in Carwoola (she has an amazing house which she built herself) and ended with afternoon tea with my mothers' group back in Theodore.

I have really missed my mothers' group since returning to work so I was glad that I was able to finally make it to a weekend gathering. It has been about 2 months since I saw everyone and all the babies have changed so much! Of course, I knew that they would all be doing the same sorts of things as Henry is doing, but it was such as change to see them all sitting up (one clever crawler too), babbling away in baby talk and interacting so much more with each other.

Anyway, I forgot my camera today, so I only have a quick snap that I thought to take with my phone of the entrance way to Elva's place leaving the BBQ.

Day 19 - Circle of Babies

Finally Henry is a real smiler! Poor Max on the left of Henry copped a whack from Henry's wayward fist while Lucy and Henry did a bit of hand holding... Pretty sure both were accidental!

Probably about 2 months ago when my mothers' group officially finished up, we took a group photo of all the bubs and of course Henry was the only one crying in every photo! I remember that morning, also because it was the night where both Henry and I had actually had less than two hours sleep. Anyway, since  the group still meets up every Wednesday (I'll only be able to go once more before returning to work) I thought today would be a good day to take a picture of the babies who were there today so that we could see how much the group has changed. Since not all of us are able to come every week, we often notice that the babies change very quickly. I'll look forward to any weekend or school holiday catch ups that I can make it to and I bet that there will be plenty of changes to catch up on.
